There are so many ways to decorate your tree this holiday season. How I decide to decorate a Christmas tree is by starting to see the style that the home has. This home was a more traditional style home with gold and champagne as the main colors. We went with a cobalt blue which would pop out when paid with gold and champagne-colored ornaments.

Gold and Cobalt blue Christmas Tree

Ou customer had a beautiful 9 foot Christmas tree that she had purchased from Costco Wholesale. A similar Christmas Tree can be found On Amazon! Who doesn’t love two-day shipping!

The approach we take with a Christmas tree is if by starting at the top of the Christmas tree. The reason we do this is that if we place stems and Christmas picks those have to go on first. This is probably one of the biggest tips I can give. You don’t want to decorate the top of the tree at the end as you can risk shaking the tree and breaking the ornaments. Trust me been there done that! 🙁

We placed gold curly picks, more gold picks, as well as some blue picks to add color to the top.

After completing the top of the tree, I started to decorate the body of the tree.

I always recommend going in with the Christmas picks first. I usually approach this step by finding which Christmas picks are the largest and will need the most amount of space. You also need to make sure to have enough to evenly distribute the picks throughout the tree.

I started by placing the leaves and flowers as they were the largest picks I had. I then went in with the smaller gold picks and distributed those.

Now comes the ornament placement. Another major tip is to go in one color at a time. I started off with the cobalt blue and carefully placed them around the Christmas picks. I used three different styles of cobalt blue ornaments. Frosted cobalt blue, matte blue, and shiny blue ornaments. This adds texture to the tree.

Lastly, I added gold ornaments to the tree. I also had a variety of gold ornaments that complimented the blue ornaments really well. The last step of decorating any Christmas tree is placing the tree skirt.

Overall the tree came out beautiful and our client was thrilled with the outcome! If you guys decide to recreate this look we would look to see it. Please post an image of it in the comments below!

Happy Holidays 🙂
