In bathrooms, there are many things that are important to consider. This can vary from hardware to simple things like plants. It’s important to know what to spend most of your money on if you are renovating a bathroom. Sometimes specific products are listed to be more expensive due to brand names. I will be going over all of my favorite items that are a must when renovating your bathroom.

Textured Walls/ Wallpaper/ Paint Colors

Walls are very important to consider when doing a bathroom reno. This is because it’s the best place to do wall decor without breaking the bank. Some people use tiles, wallpaper, or even bold paint colors. In the year 2021 contemporary design and wallpaper are quite popular. Having textured walls give a room a more intricate look and make the walls look a bit less boring. My favorite tile to use on walls is a white tile. This tile is from MSI Surfaces, and is called Dymo Stripe White This tile is textured and has a striped look. This tile is beautiful has a subtle texture to it. The best wallpaper to use in home reno’s is the easy peel and stick. This is because it something you can do and save money. I personally recommend this type because it’s easy to replace later on. When it comes to painting I have a few selected colors that I like to use in bathrooms. The colors are blue, black, white, a light pink/beige, and green.

Bathroom Hardware

Bathroom Hardware is very important to invest money in. This because trusts me you don’t want to buy cheap ones and replace them in about 2 years. TRUST ME BEEN THERE DONE THAT!! You also risk damaging your cabinets if the quality isn’t that great. They can fall off and ruin the wood.

Good quality hardware is a great investment because it can last a really long time. depending on what they are made from they require less maintenance and don’t rust or lose color. The best material for hardware is bronze, brass, stainless steel, and nickel. It’s important to consider the material you want your hardware to be made of because it affects the durability and some even have antimicrobial factors.

Before purchasing your handles or pulls make sure to determine the size you want them to be. Usually, a 6-inch cabinet handle is great because it’s a great size for bathroom cabinets. It’s better than the traditional 4 inches because those are outdated. I have listed some of my favorite ones below!

Faucets & Sinks

Purchasing quality faucets and sinks is VERY IMPORTANT!! In many cases, once you place an undermount sink it’s hard to replace without risking damaging the countertops. Some countertop installers know how to remove an under-mount sink but not all and can get very expensive to remove. If it’s not done right the result is a damaged countertop. This is why it’s important to choose a quality sink that you love. Porcelain or vitreous china bathroom sinks are great because they are very durable and last a VERY LONG TIME.

As for faucets, a good quality faucet is important because it’s not really something you want to keep replacing. So it’s better to spend a bit more on a quality faucet that will last 10+ years versus a cheap one that will last 2 years. If we are talking long-term you are saving more money buying a quality one now!

Decor Must Haves

In order to fully complete a bathroom is the decor! When it comes to decor style varies. There are many different ways to style your bathroom. Some styles include coastal, minimalistic, traditional, eclectic. contemporary, and farmhouse. These are just a few to name. Some essential every bathroom needs to have is shelving, trashcan, towels, plants, soap dispenser, candles, etc.
