Summer is right around the corner! When people think of summer they think of everything involving the outdoors. I personally love summertime because I can have pool parties and entertain all my closest friends and family. This is why having a beautiful and aesthetically pleasing patio is a MUST!! Plus, after the past year everyone has had, a beautiful outdoor space to entertain is very important in 2021!
Modern boho style has been quite trendy this year due to the neutral colors being quite trendy in the year 2021. Although boho colors tend to be neutral, adding subtle pops of color will definitely make your outdoor patio look more summer-friendly. The mood board below is the product that I think will look best in space and will look cohesive.
1. Neutral Tone Outdoor Furniture
It’s hard to find a trendy neutral tone outdoor patio set that is affordable. I think I found the one that matches perfectly with this style and is only about $450!!! I think that’s a great deal since outdoor furniture is never really that affordable.
This patio set will match perfectly with some pops of color and some plants surrounding it.
2. Outdoor Rug
Placing a rug outdoors is very optional, but I feel that it really ties in the space and makes the place feel and look homier! This specific rug is from Target. Everyone knows target has very trendy pieces during any season. This rug is definitely boho but not the traditional kind because of the pops of teal, blush pink, and yellow. These colors are PERFECT for the summer.
3. Throw Pillows
Ok, I LOVE to throw pillows but there are always so many options and different ways to pair throw pillows that ill be honest get kind of overwhelming. BUT, these pillows from target are perfect. The neutral beige one ties in the furniture quite well and the little accessories and planters shown in the mood board. While the colorful pillows tie in the entire space because of how cohesive the rug and the pillows are.
Teal, blush pink, and yellow in my opinion are the perfect color combo for 2021 because they are bright and open, and refreshing.
4. Lights
What’s an outdoor space without light? Pretty basic if you ask me! Lights are so affordable, especially from Amazon. I know Costco used to have these great ones which I’m hoping they bring back this year, but these amazon ones are actually cheaper and literally look the exact same and only about $25. Trust me this is a must for any outdoor space!!
5. Planters
I love having planters in all of my outdoor spaces. This is why I feel like its essential to have some sort of planters in your patio space.
I know I know perennial flowers are beautiful but high maintenance and I will be honest I don’t have time to care for those types of flowers. So, go with succulents that barely need water. My favorite plant to place in planters is actually the snake plant. It a great medium-sized plant that grows pretty easily.
If you don’t think you can care for the succulents as well (Hey, no judgment been there done that!), just place some faux plants they look great. Spray them with some water before guests arrive and people will think they are real!
6. Coasters
When dealing with a wood coffee table it’s best to place some coasters on the table. Nobody wants after rings on their table! This is why I usually will choose a marble type of coaster first to pop out when placed against the wood coffee table. Second, I just think they are easier to clean.
7. Tiki Torches
Last but definitely a must is tiki torches. These are so fun, especially when guests are coming placing these torches around the patio and haveing the fire crackle. This is definitely optional but I think they really add a nice fun touch!! Plus these ones are reuseable and the fuel is actually pretty affordable as well.
