One of our clients wanted a red and white modern Christmas tree. She wanted something simple and wanted it to look modern. As you guys may know we have done a red and white tree for my home this year. She wanted something similar to the one I had decorated.
So, we went shopping!! We found her some beautiful ornaments and picks from the Shinoda Design Center and Hobby Lobby. We wanted to make it similar to the tree but not exactly the same. ( I will insert the link to the red and white Christmas tree below.)

She had a beautiful 7.5’ foot tree that she had purchased from Lowes. After opening up the branches we started getting to work.
Christmas Tree Top Decor
We started with the top of the Christmas tree first. We personally find this the best way to approach decorating your tree for many reasons.
- As you place the picks on the top of the Christmas tree you want to make sure you can move around the branches to secure the picks.
- Moving the Christmas tree and leaning on it with ornaments and everything in place can lead to broken ornaments. And we don’t want that!!
- If you decorate the top first you can cover up any imperfections such as the bottom of the picks stickin out with ornaments, ribbon, etc.
We placed the picks on the top of the tree first and then stuck in some red picks to sort of giving it a layered effect. Then we placed these beautiful red leaf picks on the bottom of the treetop. That was basically it. Easy as 1,2,3.
Ribbon Placement
The first step was to start with a mesh red ribbon and do two diagonal designs along the tree. We creased it about every 10-12 inches using the branches of the tree. To brighten up the tree we needed something white consistently throughout the tree. So we went for white ribbon throughout the tree. We cut about 2-foot long ribbon pieces and used the branches to secure the ribbon. We left a little bit leftover and cut the bottom of the ribbon to make an upside-down V shape.

Flowers and Christmas Picks
Next came the flowers and Christmas picks! We placed more white and red picks throughout the Christmas tree. This is a very simple step. All we did was distribute the Christmas picks throughout the tree which gave the tree fullness.
Moreover, the flowers we placed on the crease of the red mesh ribbon. We placed one red poinsettia. Then on the next crease, we placed another red poinsettia as well as a white one next to it. And we alternated this look along with the ribbon.

Ornaments
The last and final step was placing the ornaments. To keep it more modern we added many solid red and white ornaments. We also added a few ornaments with small simple designs along the entire tree. Although this tree has a more modern look we still wanted to make sure the tree was full. This way it was the focal point for the home.
That was basically all we did for this stunning tree. It is definitely modern, which was the look our client wanted for her tree.
